Members,

I just wanted to forward the latest up to date information on our car show for this year. I want to apologize it has taken us so long to get this out as negotiations with the mall and other factors have taken a lot longer than planned. But after a few snags we have finalized details and I am including them in this post.


We will be meeting at Coral Ridge Mall in Iowa City on August 9th at 10:00 a.m. for our judge Fiero Show.
We will be gathering at a new spot by the Northwest corner entrance to the mall property this year. Just off the interstate. Not the southwest location we were at the last 3 years.
Along with our cars feel free to check out all that the Mall has to offer (including its Merry Go Round and Ice Rink). Food will be available in the Mall or at any of the surrounding restaurants.

For those coming on Friday we are working on an event at Hawkeye Downs Speedway (https://www.hawkeyedowns.org/speedway ) this is an asphalt racing track so no dirt concerns here. This is in Cedar Rapids, Iowa just a short 30" drive north of Coralridge Mall. While we're still working on the details I know we can that at least attend the Friday night races but are working on special parking and fingers crossed maybe a couple laps around the track at intermission. Details are still being hammered out but I just wanted people to get an idea of what we're working towards.
If you plan on joining us Friday here are some hotels in the area that are close to the show location.

Good afternoon, if I wanted to come down with my fiero do I need to be a member of the heartland fieros club? I’ve never been to any events so I don’t know what all is involved. Also, is there some quality standard the cars have to be in order to attend? I live about 2 hrs north of the Coralville area.

It's great that we have Fiero clubs scattered all over the United States, Canada and maybe a bit in Europe too. The social interaction,the friendship, the repair help , the modification tips and the appreciation of history all go with this. The 25th anniversary of this club is an important milestone and it is hoped that the club can also help reach the younger generation.
In 2025 it is getting difficult and expensive to build a modern performance car. The Fiero has always filled the bill for the car enthusiast .Fiero Car clubs are a way to bring an affordable hobby to the masses.

No you don't have to be a member, although we don't charge a membership fee, just shoot me a private message with your email and I'll put you on our email list and that essentially makes you a member. But as for our show, all are welcome member or not, No Fiero but want to come spectate and mingle then come on down.
