Hey guys, back in the year 2000... I went to the Daytona car show, and there were like 50 Fieros there, and we all parked together. Ed Parks was there, Peter Zurich, and probably a bunch of you guys. I was basically just a kid at the time, I think I was 22. I know it's been ~25 years since then... but does the "Fiero Community" still do a joint Fiero get together in Daytona?

The show was in the infield for the Daytona track, and all the cars got to drive on the track and get their picture taken in front of the Daytona sign... just curious...

Hi Todd

It has been quite a few years since i went.
As far as driving on the track, you had to stay on the 'bottom' line AND drive at 35MPH

IF you went above the speed limit OR decided to go up the track to feel the incline, the security guy on the motorcycle would pull you
over and make you stop and stay
on the grass/pavement until the track time limit was up.

I recall the Daytona Fiero car show and saying hello to Ed Parks and a few other parts suppliers there. I was a younger guy , had flown to Florida and had just met my girlfriend Paula (wife to be) the day before. It was our second date in 2000. It was a really good show and I would say 50 Fieros attending was about right. There used to be a club called Space Coast Fieros down there but like many other clubs they disappeared. Today I would say that the show no longer exists but there are other car shows there. I recall two guys that were active in that club, Frank Martin and Ed Williams.

Todd,
The show is still around. Just not a Fiero specific section that I'm aware of. I don't know why.
I went around the same time. It was likely 2000, but maybe 1999.

It would be nice to see a bunch of fieros there again. I'd consider making the drive.

Doug, (Kinney - Fierowarehouse owner/operator), and I used to go to the Daytona show back in those days. Not positive of the years, but I do believe 2000 was one of them.

Saw and met Archie there, and Nelson, who had the only Mera I had seen in person there, and Ed Parks, who gave rides to folks in his V8 powered Fiero, saw B&B wide body car there, and one of Archie's Fino, (I believe), kits, a convertible in yellow with a custom made interior, and many other Fiero folks that I can't mention by name, cause my memory isn't that great anymore . I do remember Frank Martin helped organize the Fiero section, and Jennifer G. and Fiero Lisa! Oh yea, and LT188GT! One of my favorite cars, and Steve H. (Raydar) great folks, all of em'!

Good time every time we went. I can't "travel" anymore, but it'd be great for some of the new guys and any of the "old" guys that could make it to see it happen again.

Lots of good pics usually came from that gathering.

HAGO!

If you've ever been to any of Ed's swap meets, I probably saw you there, too. I know I've seen Doug there.

Friend of mine used to say..."I've never been wrong.....thought I was wrong once...but I was mistaken.....AND I've never made a mistake....just paid a lot for some bad information."

Yes, I do remember seeing/talking to you at the 30th....not sure why I wanted to put you at Daytona...."some" of us don't remember things as well as others, or as well as we used to?
