Gateway Classic Cars often asks 'big bucks' for the Fiero on eBay, many are at the $30k point or higher...

The odometer reading on this 1985 GT is 941 miles and the "Paint Corrected in 2024"
Only asking $25,000 plus sales tax, title fees, license & registration fees, etc.

I believe this vehicle is "original factory" and didn't get the 1990 GM Campaign 88-C-24 Recall....

They have a site here in Tampa, and one in Fort Lauderdale. We go to the Tampa one every now and then to walk through their huge warehouse of classic cars. The guy said that Fieros are extremely hot right now, and wanted to buy my daughter's Fiero... but of course she won't sell it. They said there's a huge demand for ones that have been professionally serviced.

I actually really like Gateway Classic Cars... they have a lot of unsung deals too... lots of C4s for cheap in their warehouse, which don't sell all that quick. But the one in Tampa, the guy said he can't keep Fieros in inventory, they get sold too quickly. There weren't any there any of the times we visited.

"ONLY" ASKING $25,000. ONLY ????? That doesn't sound like a bargain to me but an extremely exorbitant price for a used 1985 Fiero . Some new cars cost less than that.

Look all the used car prices are up and in sports and collector cars there are few deals anymore.

The truth is for the Fiero that price for basically a new car is not really out of line.

The reality is few could buy a used high mile car and restore it to this condition in stock form. I have said for a long time it is best to spend the extra money and buy the used 30K mile car at $12K vs trying to restore a Fiero.

Now if you are going going custom or V8 swap etc the cheap cars are fine. But paint, finding original interior parts and such can be expensive and difficult to find. Even a T top needing parts is not really a good deal.

Today there are only a few deals below $20K-25K.

The one concern I have for this car is that it may suffer more issues than one that was driven. Dry gaskets and other damage from sitting can make master cylinders fail. Brakes stick and clutch cylidners fail. It would need new tires etc. We see this in the Corvette sector where people buy a Vette and sit on it and then the second buyers has many things to fix from sitting.

Would I pay this much for a Fiero. No. But it is becoming more and more where these prices are not out of line.

Even an old GTO is not worth restoring anymore as you can buy a used one that had been restored that is in like new shape for less than what the owner paid to restore it.

The few deals today are C5 and C6 Vettes and the Solstice and Sky if it is a non Turbo. The Fiero in good shape is becoming hard to find and younger people are starting to take interest in them today.

I know we see many Fieros on the web but the truth is many of them are not in great shape. The web makes anything look good. I have seen a number of them where they are great outside but rusted to death under the skin. Once there they are more parts cars than collector cars.

Also the quality of the work is wide. Some folks put a lot of time into their Fiero and do good work but many don't have the tools or money to do the repairs right. Then you have a mess. This applies to a number of cars not just the Fiero.
