I've seen lots of white 87 GTs, and lots of white 87 base coupes. But I can't say that I have ever seen a white 87 SE. And I've been following Fieros since 85.
I'm beginning to doubt that one even exists. (I saw one for sale, a while back, but it looked like a repaint. Couldn't see the RPO sticker, in any case.)
Does anyone here own one, or have you ever seen one?

Yeah. I know there are a bunch of white 86 SEs.
But an 87? I'm not so sure.

And yeah... I searched for old threads.

Very true. But every white 87 I've ever seen was a coupe or a GT.

Still have yet to see a white 87 SE. At least not that I can remember.

The 87 model year had far fewer white cars than any of the other years.

Perhaps it was due to the introduction of the medium metallic red and medium metallic blue colors.

I had one... and it pains me to say it.

Back in 2006, I bought a complete 1987 Pontiac Fiero SE / V6 because it came with a 5-Speed Getrag, and I wanted a car that I could use to convert my own 1987 Fiero to a 5-Speed from an automatic. It was a really, really cool Fiero. It was a hard top, had the WS6 suspension (on the RPO sticker), had absolutely no options... everything was manual, and originally had a spoiler (but they'd replaced the decklid with a 2m4 decklid w/ luggage rack).

The motor was blown... literally had a piston that was missing and blown out the bottom of the block.

The frame was COMPLETELY rust free. But keep in mind, this was 2006, and there were at least 5 Fieros in the junkyard every week, so I didn't think much of it. I took a lot of usable parts off of it, including the 5-Speed... but I eventually cut it up and left it out for bulk pickup.



Getting a car like that now, I'd probably turn it into a track car.

Yeah... I paid like... maybe $250 for it? Probably not even that?

The kid who sold it to me, his dad dropped it off for him. He took the front and rear bumpers off of it, and swapped out the decklid (that had a spoiler) for his 2m4 with a luggage rack. He put all these parts on his 1985 Fiero 2m4, hah... and as I said, I just bought it because it was the same year as mine, was mechanically complete, and had all the parts I needed for the swap.


I keep thinking to myself though how awesome that car must have been back in the day. I mean, it was a stripper... literally no options except WS6 suspension, V6, Getrag, and a spoiler.

No power windows, no power mirrors... nothing. Of course, it had the SE interior so the fancier seats and the steering wheel... but it must have been an awesome car to drive, and probably pretty quick too.




Even the cooling tubes were unblemished... I used all of these parts, and if it was even slightly better than what was on my car, I used it.

Yeah, I saved both of those... they were pristine. I used stainless polish on them and a buffing wheel, and they came out perfect.

Hah, I know... unfortunately. I saved everything, even the fuel tank was perfect. I put them up on Peter Zurich's site, and someone came by and picked up all the spare parts.
