On Saturday (Dec 10, 2022),

Almost a dozen of the regular racers at the track I compete at will be at the Freedom Factory competing for the $10,000 prize.

Anyone interested in Circle Track Racing can join the FB group: Circle Track Spectator Drags

https://www.cleetusmcfarland.com/

Sadly my car is not ready yet.

If you're following the news, those days might be gone soon Typical B.S where a developer wants to build housing right next to the track even though there are MILES of open land available which means he'll have to shut down due to excess noise.

The county is supposedly going to protect the track for future generations
We'll see what happens.

It's a shame Cleetus didn't buy up the surrounding land (if it was available). Housing developments can't use imminent domain (or shouldn't be able to, there have been some shady cases that wound up in court). Then he could have held onto the land and not only sold it at a premium, but put into land use contracts that any future dwellings or uses of property would need to accept any "noise pollution" from the track. Could still wind up in a court battle, with lawyers just throwing paperwork around to drain the tracks resources, but still.

I do hope the county sides with Cleetus and puts some sort of protections on the book.
