(amazing how many people at that car show have no idea those gardens are behind the house)
I'm hoping to make it to the fall show this year. |

If they have the fall show come. It is a fun show. Food is good and they even set up speakers with music and tV screens for the football game.
One year Goodyear sent Wingfoot 0ne to the show for a good bit of the afternoon. Not many car shows get a blimp.
People set up chairs along the drive and watch the cars come and go. It is like a parade in a show.
They just got done with a lot of work on the house and restored a number of rooms back to the original 1915 furnishings. The stuff out back is all new in the gardens. It was just restored. At one time the property went for 100’s of acres.
The spring show is nice and it attracts many non car people. It is like a tradition with many. I just got aggravated that for several years my car was good enough to display but one it was old enough not good enough to judge. I should get over it but I am stubborn.
We did show a 63 T Bird Sport Roadster there one year. The car was perfect but the roof would not go up when the judges were there. As soon as they left the roof worked perfect. Those switch set ups on the 60’s fords were always temperamental.
I wish the Glenmoore show was still going. It was in Canton and quickly became one of the top ten Concourses.
They had some of the greatest cars I have ever seen there. The Mormon Meteor, the Worlds Fair V16 Cadillac coupe and much more. They had hot rods, a large group of exotics, race cars, prototypes. You name it they had it there.
I was shocked they has on a putting green the Graniteli coupe, Pierson Bro coupe, The So Cal coupe and several other famous hot rods.
The last year they let us display our cars on the golf course. But the people who live at the private club hated the crowds and stopped letting them have the show on the golf course.
It was the only car show where I had leg of lamb for lunch.
I was afraid when I went to the first show as it was out of my class. But I got there I knew many people there and met many more. Even got invited for a ride in a Stryker.
Also if you have time visit the house for Christmas. The lights are amazing and the inside is as it was for the family back in the day of old time Christmas.
