Hello guys, Just a pondering (fantasizing) I was having with regard to my '88 GT turning 30 as to what if GM was still making or resumed making this model?
What are some thoughts as to the specs and the price?
I am thinking 6 Speed, LSD, LGX and quick ratio power steering with probably 16-17" wheels and larger brakes.
MSRP? $37K? in '88 mine cost $17,500 Canadian!

I want to buy a used one, in a couple of years, and plaster Fiero badges all over it.

Like Pontiac Solstice failure that produced "parts bin" cars like Fiero?
GM only sold 65,724 cars in the US in 6 years... far lower then even Fiero 5 year run.

Hello Ogre, your cave is such an excellent source of Fiero Info! Thank you.
Speaking of the numbers, wasn't there something like 370,000 Fieros produced?
Amazing even to this day!

If GM made a Fiero today, it would have 7 airbags, LGX engine with an optional LF4. It would have ABS and traction control. It would have 18 or 19 inch wheels with adjustable suspension. AWD would be an option, probably electric on the front. It would have electric steering and OnStar. Brakes would be 14" front and 13 " rear. Styling would be more angular and since Pontiac is gone, it would probably be a Cadillac.

Hello Daryl, now that just makes me sad! My fantasy just exploded like a Peugeot F1 engine!
Glad you included the LGX engine though (my favourite V6!) speaking of which, Trifecta has replied to me stating that they indeed can do a reprogrammed ECM for a standalone/hotrod LGX project but with stock power only which is fine. It is quite impressive already. They require the stock MAF from a Camaro and only Throttle By Wire so the sending unit for the gas pedal would be needed and some clever thinking. $700.00
1 less cable though! I guess I will have to make my own 21-88 and have a line on 2 GTs in my area as candidates (an '87 & '88).
