In our great country... with unrestricted travel and so much to offer... I find that the journey should be treasured as much as the destination... and it is made better when shared with friends.

Turn your travel into a mini-vacation! This is an open invite to any other adventurous Fiero souls that might want to join in all or part of the 35th Anniversary trip going from South to The Land of Lincoln (no, not Nebraska!)

We have several leaving D/FW on Saturday, Aug 4th AM. Plans are to take 30E towards Hot Springs AR and then jump on twisty Ozark roads on state-7 headed north to Branson MO.

2 nights in Branson. The Dutton Inn looks very nice, affordable at under $70 with bed choices when booked through TripAdvisor and close to several activities we could even walk to. Might be cheaper if you select a king bed or prepay.

We are thinking maybe doing a run up to Springfield MO on Sunday to do the drive through Fantastic Caverns and check out the NRA gun collection museum at the Bass Pro World HQ. Lots of other options if caves and guns aren’t your bag!

By noon or so on Monday... we are on the road to St. Louis. We will stop at a RT-66 Museum and the Bigfoot HQ.
2 nights in StL.
Tuesday we plan to hit the Arch in the AM and the Anheuser-Busch tour including the world famous Clydesdales in the afternoon.
Wednesday we have some morning options and a unique crossing of Old Man River. Then chase the Illinois River north using IL state-100 and get into Peoria about 4p via state-24 for check-in and then meet with other early birds. Note... there is not much interstate on this route... and that makes me feel great.
America is prettier on an 8point font road (the grey lines for those of you who don’t know what a paper map is) than on a freeway.

Also!!!... you don't have to book where I book... you may have rewards with some chain you prefer!  I will share the info and you just pick and choose how you want to trip!  That goes from activities to restaurants... do our thing, do your thing, we may do your thing because it is better than our thing... you get the idea. 💡

Here's a link from TripAdvisor for The Dutton:
https://www.tripadvisor.com...ranson_Missouri.html

As for Saint Louis... Tom Slick and I rolled the dice 🎲 🎲 and went for a casino in downtown.  It is on the river and a 15 minute walk to the Arch. It sounded more interesting than being off in a random suburb.
I used Hotwire... total for room + tax + resort fee is $100/day and includes free parking.  (Now we don't have to mess with parking for the Arch).   Ratings are mediocre, but the locale and view sound nice.
Just put your dates in (check-in Aug 6th check-out 8th). City is Saint Louis...
The casino is The Lumeire... and can probably be booked lots of different ways... I just used Hotwire for that deal.

For the 30th Annv event, I organized the big gathering at Funderburks in Illinois where we merged caravans from Texas, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois... it made for a great cruise to Indy until a Fiero broke down... (an Indy no less)... Hopefully something like that can happen again (well, not the break down)...

Join us for all or part! Feel free to post options or suggestions and regardless we see you en route or in Peoria... travel safely!

Yes. Wednesday about 4p-5p is what we estimate.

Thanks for the clarifying question, I realize some aren’t getting into Peoria until Thursday.

Our logic was that we wanted to do the Thursday night event and did not want a bunch of hours behind the wheel to only turn around and do some more.

Blake it will be good to see you and Tom again! I won't be in Peoria on Wednesday, but will be there Thursday on. I live about 90 miles from the venue.

I`ll see you guys in Peoria Wednesday.
My flight gets in about 3 or so.
I would have loved to have gone with ya`ll but between time off from work, boarding my dogs and other
expenses coming up soon it just wasn`t in the books.

I planned to hit the arch myself, so I may try to meet up with you guys Tuesday morning, and tag along to Anheiser in the afternoon as well.

You still have the same number Blake ending in 046?

You probably need an appointment to go up in the Arch. I've never been up, but I heard it's...cramped.
