Been laid low with a bad cold. A nephew got a book out of the local library called.." American Dream Cars..60 years of the best concept vehicles", Mitchel J. Frumkin/Phil Hall, Krause Pub. On page 99, it shows a picture of a 1968 " Banshee ll/Fiero. Check it out..amazing !!!

As they say....Pictures or it didn't happen! It was called the Firebird Fiero and was built in 1969. Maybe there is a better picture somewhere. The Banchee 2 was built in 1968 for an auto show, and this is the same body re-painted with the flaming chicken.

I find the Pontiac Pegasus was sort of a predecessor as well. It was a Firebird concept with Ferrari influences mainly the v12 or v10 shoved in it, and We know that the Fiero was based on the wheelbase and configuration of the Ferrari as well. A prancing horse with wings? I feel all this was more than coincidence.
