Hello It's been a minute since i posted or have even been involved in my fiero related cars. I just decided to dive back in and learned that most of the kit cars and fiero shops have closed for whatever reason (sad). good to see that Pennocks is still around. I came because I have a need. i ran into a little money and I'm looking for a shop that still does V8 swaps..Can you recommend anyone. I live in San Francisco California but am willing to travel in necessary. thanks in advance for any help and thanks Pennocks for sticking around.
V8 Archie has semi-retired to the Vegas area. He has the best kit in the industry but I don't think he does the actual conversions anymore. I'm sure he can recommend someone who does. http://www.v8archie.us/
I did try to contact v8 archie, but no response so far. So in assuming they aren't in business for business anymore. Semi retired is a good answer. Anyone else?
Does the company West Coast Fiero? Or maybe they know who does? The West coast is so far from me, and I don't really know anyone there, that is just the first thing that comes to mind.

I just got a battery relocation kit from Archie even talked to him on the phone. but he may be only selling parts not installing them and/or doing swaps. I just got my V8 back and its being a pain. stay away from an Automatic, lessen you got knowledge about swapping in a better tranny than a beefed up TH125.........good luck with the hunt!

Archie is still selling parts out of his garage essentially, but his shop is long gone and he doesn't do any work on customer's cars anymore.
If you get the parts id be willing to help out. Ive swapped motors before just not in a fiero. Plenty of good info and people on here on doing swaps tho. I want to do one on my car but the smog issue seems like a pain
I found a response in my junk mail from archie. I thought he wasn't going to answer, but turns out he answered the day after i email him. Soooooo. V8 here we come

What method are you guys using to contact Archie? I used the email on the website and heard back from him 2 weeks after I sent it. And after that I haven't heard anything again. I'm trying to get a front engine mount from him. Maybe I'm just using an email he doesn't check often?
I got the quotes and have just been thinking...that's a lot off money 13k and that does not include the motor. Gotta ask..is it worth it? Has anyone else done this and thinks it was worth the money?
I have an LT1 powered GT. The motor is a stock 5.7 from a Firebird, that is bolted to the stock 5 speed. Car gets down the road pretty well, and sounds amazing. Car is tons of fun to drive and gets about the same MPG as the stock 2.8 car I have. Not to mention it turns heads, its a chop top as well. That being said the 3.8 SC cars are making the same power for less cash than it would take to put an LS1 in a fiero.. they just do not sound like a V8 and can be hard to tune at times. I guess it depends on where you want to spend the cash.
I would suggest that you look for a car with a V-8 in it already. Worst case is you swap the motor over to your current car, or better have a stock car and one with a V-8 in it. This is why I have a stock GT sitting in front of my V-8 car now.
May not be your cup of tea, but there's a V8 swapped Fiero ( Archie did it), with California Smog Compliance sticker, for sale on CL here in Vegas. It's a member's car, and has been available for a while. It looks pretty good in the pictures.

I agree one what has one in it and is already working can save nearly half the cost.
This is the reason i was sticker shocked. People selling v8 fiero cars all the time. And the kits for half. So i thought..it may not be that expensive. BUT now that i know a little more i won't be so surprised.
Projects always cost more when you have to pay others to do the work.
Without any labor costs and fabricating most of the parts myself, I had about $8K in my LS4/F40 swap. A turnkey LS(x) swap is easily $15-25K.
You can normally get better deals for a completed (or nearly completed) swap, but depending on miles since the swap, it might still need debugging and some rework to make it reliable.
Funny you should mention this. I was just looking into this swap and wondering who had done it and what we're the details..are the kits available? Or is fabrication my only option
