Good video! I see he wrote in big letters about switching polarity. I switched from flux core wire to gas and didn't switch my polarity. I had big caterpillars for welds and the work got really hot. One day I was staring at my chart on the inside flap of the welder and noticed a polarity diagram. It hit me like a ton of bricks "holy sh!t! I've been doing this wrong the whole time!" Switched polarity and now m welds look really good and the piece didn't get nearly as hot. I too have no formal welding training but have learned through practice and watching videos like this one. I say go buy a good mig welder that can run gas and go for it!
