Picked htis issue of October 27th 1980 Autoweek at a antique show, caught my eye because of the fiero on the cover. Never seen this one before, and a internet search didn't turn it up either. Figured I'd share it.

That's cool. I know there's always changes between prototype and production models. Glad they added the hood

I hope you don't mind that I've tweaked the images just a little and uploaded them to the PFF image hosting site.

Two verrry interesting Fiero videos on this facebook page, including this car .

"Designing the P-Car - In the spring of 1983, automotive journalist and broadcaster Mike Joy interviewed P-Car project manager Hulki Aldikacti. Here are some excerpts from that interview."

Yeah there is an article connected to that one I just posted, that talks about the 2nd gen Fiero, the one they killed. They had two aluminum frames made, they were said to be half the weight of the steel ones and more ridgid.

We can talk about what could have been at GM but IMO we are making that a reality right here with engine swaps, interior modifications, custom fiberglass parts, suspension ,brake mods and others. If GM would have adopted what has been done here, Corvette might have gone out of business back then. As it was, an 85 V8 Corvette was only slightly faster than a 2.8L Fiero. Had Pontiac went to an aluminum frame with a 3.4DOHC or 3800, the Fiero would have outperformed the Corvette.
