In the picture of the underside of the car, to the left of the front axle, looks like the company logo.

This was a long time well known and respected toy company.

Keep in mind Gay did not always mean what it meant today.

They were well know for cars, trucks, boats and air plane toys often told at places like Kresgie, Grants, Ben Franklin, Scotts 5 and 10, Woolworth and many other five and dime stores in the 50's - 80's.

This one is a common Fiero toy that also was converted into a F40 Ferrari at one point using the same mold and wheels.

The Gay Toy company is now American Plastic Toys Inc. It looks like they've been in business since the early '60s. So, it's not a toy for gays (homosexuals) but a toy made by the Gay Toy company of Michigan.

Just a brand name. Remember for most of recorded time gay has meant happy.

The Wife and I do this daily. We hide them in inconspicuous locations.

Off track. Sorry...

The auction title is most unfortunate:

"LARGE 10 INCH GAY TOY" PONTIAC FIERO GT CAR

Almost sounds like they are selling 2 completely different items......

The original definition of gay was joyful, laughing and merry. I know people with that last name. Unfortunately the definition has been perverted. Gay has now come to signify the description of the homosexual.

Like he said it was a well know toy company. You just took it the wrong way.

Now we know what he's been searching for on eBay, my question is, is it Christmas shopping or personal?
