You never know what your going to run into. Went to a SCCA meet today (Helena, MT) and spotted a Fiero across the pit lane. And it looked like a wide body. Neat. As i'm walking over to the car I see subtle differences , more rake to the nose, aero underneath rear of car, this car aint no regular Fiero.

It was 1 of 6 Pontiac factory race cars. Full tube chassis, every inch a full on race car. Originally believed to have a Super Duty. As it currently sits it has a longitudinal ls6 and a manual 4 speed. To give some idea of the performance, newer corvettes were running mid 90's on the course, Fiero was running mid to upper 80's.

It's a long ways from a production Fiero, but it was very cool to see.

I can't get the pic to download off my phone. When I do, I'll try and post it.

Yeah, we'd love to see that.

That sounds like Dave Deerson's old car. Here is the build thread:
https://www.fiero.nl/forum/F...3/HTML/000089-2.html

It was listed for sale a couple years back, so this might be the new owner.

Mystery solved! Thanks Fieroguru, that is indeed the car. Still looks exactly as your pics. Its got a few bumps and bruises on it. Glad to see it out on the track. It is indeed a very serious race car. Read the old thread, quite the racing history there.
