So I'm tearing down the cradle to clean everything up for my swap and can't get the driver side axle out. Pulled the passenger side with no issues. I'm prying on it and it only moves about a 1/4 inch. Anyone have any ideas as to why I can't get this out? It is a 2.5 with an isuzu trans. Thanks!

Mine was a little stubborn too. What worked for me was pushing the axle all the way in, and with a big pry bar against the tranny giving it a quick snap. Be careful with the pry bar so that you don't crack the tranny case.

Ok ill try with a bigger pry bar. I have an 18in hook bar that just isn't doing the job. The trans is getting scrapped so I won't worry about damaging it.

There is a tool made specifically for this task. You need a slide hammer with an OTC 7507: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/otc-7507

For future reference and posterity, slipper toe pry bars FTW!!! Don't ask me how I know. 😁
