On the Chicago Craigs list, there are sometimes 30-50 Fiero's for sale. From absolute junk to pristine shape with crazy prices. In your area, are there many Fiero's for sale...and any opinions as to why???
the " point" is being missed...any opinions as to why so many Fiero's are up for sale ???
Probably as many reasons as there are cars listed. They are getting old. Insurance companies don't want to fix them in wrecks. Shops don't want to work on them. The average person doesn't seem to want to get grease under their fingernails anymore. Mechanical aptitude and common sense are becoming rare. There are so many decent newer used cars out there. Newer "economy" cars can easily spank the 2.8V6. Two seats can be hard to live with at times. Banks won't make loans for cars that old. On and on.
...In your area, are there many Fiero's for sale...?
I was responding to this part of your question. I think it was on point.
As to why, I would suggest there is probably a higher concentration of cars there. Not necessarily that a greater proportion are being sold there than anywhere else.
Some of the 50-75 fiero's listed on the Chicago Craigs list have been listed for 2-3 years !!!!! Looks like a dead market her..what about YOUR AREA ????
on the other hand if you do a search using search tempest on craigslist for fieros for sale there have been a lot deleted by the poster which can mean they were sold.

Just checked out NJ and there's a ton of Fieros to be had is this area too. Fiero's don't sell well due to reputation, age, worn condition, poor performance/mileage (V6) low resale value and because of the mechanical ineptitude of the majority of car owners to repair them. A Fiero is now an old car, useful mainly as a project car, collectible/classic, curio, hot rod or custom . Most car owners are just not into this type of stuff anymore. Hot rodding, and auto restoration work have become a lost art especially on a mid engine platform that few mechanics know anything about and if you are into modification work you just buy a 500HP small block, find a cheap 80's era Corvette and bolt the right engine in. No custom harness, mounts, hose rerouting and fabrication needed.
