Monday I was unfortunate while driving I my Fiero. A rock came off an oncoming truck and put a nice chip in my windshield. I had satellite do my windshield back in 2010. They advertise windshield repairs. I had them come out today, both the representative on the phone and the service tech told me that I wouldn't even see the repair. After they did the repair. The windshield still has a spider in it. And where they put the clear resin in....well let just say I have had bugs that left less of a spot. I wouldn't recommend anyone to have this done. The worse part is...the cost of repair wasn't much less than a new windshield. I think I will be calling them in morning to see what can be done....see what happens

Safelite.
Just keep bugging them and tell them how unhappy you are, eventually they should get you a new windshield in stalled. Dont let them charge you again, or at least take the cost of the non fix off of the real fix.
By the way a new widnshield installed areound here is $250-300

A friend used Satellite Glass about two weeks ago. The follow day the windshield cracked (while the car was parked) but they came again and replaced it the following week. While Satellite used quality USA made PPG and LOF windshields a few years ago, they now use mostly the cheap Chinese imports. Those windshields are garbage. Even if they last the shading looks nothing like the original. If you order a new Chinese windshield make sure you check the shading, color and surface to insure that its not wavy or insist on PPG product.

So there really is a company called Satellite?
They even ripped off the name of a reputable company Safelite.

I have glass on my insurance and it has paid off. When I was working I traveled the highway with a lot of truck traffic. I've had the windshield replaced three times. Chips can be fixed, but it does sound like they did a half A job on yours.

Well...things look much better. Guess I jumped the gun. I called today and talked with manager of the branch that did the repair. He was very helpful. He informed that with bigger chips, like mine....was about the size of a quarter. They can't actually get a100% repair. It is intended to keep the windshield from spidering in hot or cold temperatures.
Ok I totally understand this. He is going to apply the cost of repair, give me $25 dollars off the windshield. So all in all I am not any money for the repair.
The total cost of windshield is only $170 plus tax. I paid half that for the repair. So just a heads up. Unless you just have a tiny nick in the glass, I wouldn't do a repair. Just replace the glass.
