Doing an oil change on my '88 Formula.

When I checked the capacity page of the owner's manual it says -

R code 2.8L 3 quarts

9 code 3.8L 4 quarts.

Typo or wishful thinking on GM's part?

Seems like they never could get that quarts of oil qty quite right.

This is a poorly designed table from GM..... what it is trying to say is:

The Duke engine (code R) contains 2.8 liters of oil or 3 quarts.

The V6 engine (code 9) contains 3.8 liters of oil or 4 quarts.

Yes that is poor as my 88 2.5 took more than 4 quarts. LOL

Oh, OK, well that makes some sense but you're right. It is very poorly worded.
