My son and I stopped for a bite to eat after refereeing at a soccer tournament in Sand Springs, about 40 miles from where we live. As we pulled into the Arby's parking lot, I noticed some big old cars sitting in an overgrown fenced lot next door. I thought they might be something interesting, but when I got a closer look I saw this:

It's right off Highway 51 in downtown Sand Springs. Looks like it has some kind of weird aftermarket sunroof. I lack the skills many forum members have in identifying Fieros from the outside.

Edit: I have no skills at judging from a glance the year and trim level.

Don't worry. From the outside, I'd figure most members here would agree it's a blue Fiero. Oh, you mean year, engine, etc.

No, I was just looking for confirmation that it's a blue Fiero.

The info I've found shows no new blue Fieros. So, this would be a repaint.

Edit: found there was a metallic blue in '87.

is that for all years?
when they were new. Damon Pontiac, in Abington, Ma. on route 18
had a blue one, tho. that blue was more like the "petty" blue.. but not the blue used on the petty g/p (limited model)a few years later.

It has a green tarp fastened to the inside covering all the windows. I may try to get over there on my lunch hour this week to see if I can find out more.

It appears to be an SE model from 86 or 87 due to the aero nose and skirting. It is definitely a respray, as the only factory blue was a more bright blue a shade darker than the Richard Petty blue mentioned above and was only available in model year 87. It definitely has an aftermarket sunroof. All fieros have the necessary open frame work in the roof for the factory sunroof. It just gets covered up by the solid headliner and the solid roof panel if it got built as a hard top. Of course, with it being a respray, it could be a frankenfiero...parts off many different years. Best bet is to get the VIN. You can decode it at www.fiero.net. Then you'll know exactly what year and what body style the frame originally was... Goog find!
