So as the title states I bought my old 86 SE back this evening for 500 bucks, it's been gone for a year and saw it on Craigslist for sale a couple months ago and sent a email to the guy I sold it to and he wanted it gone or it was going to the junkyard so I've bought my car back and am financially better but still got to get it back home plan to drive it home since it still runs just needs a couple things. Would like to build the car right this time and hope to do so plan on parking it once I get home since I have way too many projects and whatnot going on

I'm planning on bringing it home tomorrow I sold this very car a year ago and now buying it back, I regret selling it but happy to be bringing it back home. Maybe I'll do the 3800 sc swap with a 5 spd I always wanted to do to it

On the surface it looks like you came out ahead considerably.

The clutch needs to be bled in it, the shifter cables were loose, it idles high, egr has a block off plate on it. Anyone have a link to bleeding the clutch, and adjust the shifter cables. I still need to put antifreeze in it and make sure it doesn't leak supposedly. It used to leak badly at the t-stat housing

I think it has a cracked head or blown headgasket. We had a really cold night a week before I bought the car and I think it got it. Guy didn't have any antifreeze in it and the coolant is being pushed out the overflow bottle after several different methods of burping it and new Rad cap with correct stant part # that I got off ogre's cave

I may do one but either way I'd like to tear down the top end and fix some things I'd like to clean up all the wiring and vacuum lines it's too cluttered and looks bad and redo my valve covers and upper intake and get a new exhaust for it. I did get it drivable though I adjusted the rod on the master cylinder since I put a Rodney one on it about 2 or so years ago and adjusted the shifter cables.

Did you ever determine what condition the engine is in? Wet / dry compression test results?

Well I messed around with the car for most of the evening after I got home from work and bled the clutch system with Rodney's self bleeding clutch tool. Finally got it going into all gears smoothly. Hoping to start some compression tests this weekend to decide whether or not I'm dropping the cradle hopefully I won't have to. The car has been sitting soundly in its portable garage for several months I haven't had time to really do anything to it but will probably be fixing this before the blazer

Adjusted the wiper arms finally, had to put another clutch in it about a month or two ago. Would like to get it painted soon and have a few leaks to fix and I'm planning on buying a new exhaust from tfs, I don't post much like I used to but i'm still around. Went and looked at a 84 yesterday and will hopefully bring that home if everything goes right but it needs some work been parked and sitting outside since 2005 so it needs some tlc.
