Not sure if I am posting in the right place but here goes. Been reading a lot on here for the past year. Lot of good info. I have not built a hot rod for myself in about 20 yrs and am about to get started on one this winter. Over the summer I bought a super clean 86 gt auto. My plan was to just put it in the garage and wait till winter. I got the car out of a warehouse from a 70 year old women that realized she was never going to drive it again. 86,000 miles. She said the trans slipped a little some times but that was not why she stopped driving it. I bought it and trailered it home. I decided to clay bar the paint and wax it and put the cover on it till winter. Once I got started I was amazed how it looked and started falling in love with her. Long story short I put a trans in it and drove it round trip 65 miles everyday from late june till the first snow. I was surprised at how well it drove and comfortable it is. I got worried when I saw Archie was retiring as that was my plan for parts. Have no fear he is still at it. I bought a v8 auto kit from him in early nov. and got it a few weeks later. I bought a 350 4 bolt and a 4t65e trans for the swap. The block will be ready from the machine shop at the end of this week. I am building a 383 some where around 450hp. I know I know I got a bit Happy buying parts. Time will tell. My plan was to have it on the road early spring but I am now considering taking a year and really doing it right. I have lots of pictures so far and more to come. Where should I post them? or not? http://s755.photobucket.com...y/My%20Fiero%20build

If you are doing a build thread, probably post in Technical. If you're just showing us the car, General should be fine. If you end up with a spectacular thread, Cliff will move it to Construction.
Oh, pictures are always welcome. Congrats on the purchase.

Yes, Welcome! And please, please use PIP to download your pictures so by the time you post the last picture the first ones will still be visible to us. Pictures posted with PIP will stay here until the website is gone. Not so with some other hosting services,
Welcome to PFF! Can't wait to see the pics and follow your build. You are right to give yourself a little extra time with the build. Much better to get it done right than to rush through it. Have fun with it!

This is what my fuel injected 383 looks like installed in an 88. These are not the best photos but I needed them in a hurry when they were made.
Welcome to the madness ..... happy to see another V8 383 joining the forum !!!! I'm presently rebuilding my fiero with an F40 6 speed manual tranny and lots of mods regards Danyel
Yes my son also has a fiero and a profile here. Sorry for lack of response but between working 60-70 hours a week been limited on time. I am off this week so here are a few updates. Every action has a reaction keeps coming to mind as i build this car. Every thing I touch need to me messaged to work they way i want it to.
This pic. is my sons car. This is not getting the v8. We are putting the driveline out of mine into it. Car had sat for some time and the mice gave it a nice smell He stripped every thing out of it, bleached it three times and pressure washed it then painted all the inside before reassembly. We did this last fall and the smell is gone.

Wow I am having a hard time with pic. on this site. Might just use photo bucket with a link. I got a smoking deal on some JBA headers. I wanted something better than the sanderson ones, but as you can see there not going to fit. The pic. looks better than they are. They dump right on top of the trans. Probrably going to build some custom ones.

Wow I am having a hard time with pic on this site.
First thing I can suggest is to not put more than one image and/or images and text on the same line. Use the "Enter" key and put a blank line in between.

As you can see listed below, images can be up to 1024 pixels wide, and the file size can be up to 300 kb.
I use IrfanView to re-size and re-compress images. It's free... and works great.
