Yeah I saw it & met Corbett back in '93 or '94 at the Knott's Berry Farm, Kit Car Show.
Kind of a nice car & real nice guy.
I didn't like the flat windshield but you didn't have a lot of choices back in the last Century.
The first time I talked to Adrian was in '90 or 91. He spent alot of the '80's building a Lambo 5000S kit for the VW floor pan. Reminds me what a mess the rebody industry was before the Fiero came out. At that time he was based out of Harrisburg, PA & had his Patriot done. He was moving out to Eugene, OR & then eventually ended up in CA. I lost touch with him sometime after he got to OR & before he went to CA.
I still have an original Patriot brochure that he was passing out at the show.
For the youn'ens out there brochures are what we had before before the websites on the Interweb.
There was one of these for sale on e-bay a year or two ago, listed as a Fiero prototype. At the time I assumed it was a one off that someone had customized. I'm surprised to see that it was actually a produced kit line.
The hotel entrance drive that is shown in the Video looks to be the Fairmont in Newport Beach, Calif. I stayed there earlier this year, and recognized it right away when I saw the video.
It's looks a bit slow opening, but is/was cool looking for the time. Not so much for todays standards. I was just browsing you tube and while watching I said hey that looks like a Fiero tach, then the engine shot and just laughed.
Edit to add: hey archie when you stopping by the club here?

I remember this from back in the day. I think there may have only been one. I had never seen another and the MFG had had some financial issues too at several points. They were making electric cars here in Ohio for a while and I think that folded too.
the styling held up about as good as the Testarossa in other words not well.
I remember when the Probe came out it made this look like a Probe with a bad body kit.

I think everyone's hair looked like that in the 80s. Hairspray companies made a mint back then.
Yeah we are NOT morning people, weather dictates out hours, in July, we prob didn't get there untill the sun went down, and worked/played all night. Who wants to be out side in the deathray (err I mean the Vegas summer sun) Now that winter is coming we will be there more during the day. As it will be getting cold at night, you know 60 degs.

I wonder what ever happened to him.
Archie
I actually found Adrian online and have been in touch with him. I managed to snag one of the few Patriot kits produced and had to see what he could tell me about finishing the car. My understanding is that there were five complete cars, two of which were V8s that went to the Middle East, and seven kits. Mine is one of the seven kits. Adrian has been in touch with the owner of one of the cars in Kuwait. The only other one I am aware of sold a decade or more ago in Ohio or Pennsylvania.
I'd love to look over a completed car if anyone knows an owner of one. Also, if there are any kit car body mounting gurus on here in/near Minnesota, I'd love some help making sure this thing is mounted right! Never messed with a rebody before...
Besides Adrian's hair... my biggest takeaway from the video, was wondering how the driver/passenger would exit the car in the event of a turnover?
That's a valid question! Clearly I don't intend to roll it, but there's always that possibility. I'm not sure if the actuators have the power to lift the chassis if upside down or not. I'll have to see if I can find specs on them before it goes on the road. There is a mechanical backup. I also don't know how effective that would be. Definitely don't want to find out.

Dear lord, that's almost as straight edge and less effort as a cyber truck. If you want something that looks NOT like a Fiero, don't buy a Fiero.
I bought a Fiero for a parts car...turns out I'm going to repair that too. I think I have a problem... Apparently I also like straight up Fieros! I saw the Patriot in a Kit Car magazine back in 1992 and thought it was very unique. That's the draw here, not that I just want something different than a Fiero.
Looks like the windows roll down. Not much room though to wiggle through. Stay slim!
Agreed! Maybe I need to incorporate some sort of linear actuator that you can use to push it up from the ground if you roll it! There isn't much protection either. I don't see it being much better than a convertible with a roll bar. Oh well, I ride motorcycles too...not much protection there either. Of course this is all academic if I never get it on the road!
