Spun a rod bearing on my 3800sc mated to a Isuzu transmission and the spec clutch was ordered under Isuzu.
Since I'm replacing the engine may as we'll change out to a better tranny so I don't have to drop the cradle again in the future some time when it goes out..
My question which cavalier came with the correct f23 2000-2000 non ecotec?, who makes tranny mounts, will the spec clutch I already have work or will it need to be replaced it's only got a few miles on it so if I can reuse it with the f23 would be nice and the already machined down flywheel I got? And what else is needed for the conversion

Noone makes the trans mounts or shift linkage brackets. There's a design that some say works, some say doesn't for the shift linkage, nothing for the trans mounts.

Lunatic made some mounts for his f23 ecotec before making a new cradle. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/F...ML/094237-2.html#p61

Why aren't the 2003-2005 j-bodies compatible? Didn't they just get facelifted?

The 2.2L engine with the GM Metric bolt pattern (same as Fiero) was dropped from production and everything else had the ecotec bellhousing bolt pattern.
