You would have to solid mount them to the frame as they would bounce on the plastic. Also you would have to get the right mirror as not many new cars would look right with them out there sleek or not.

The fender mounted mirrors were nice on my 59 Plymouth. The are potentially hazardous if you run into a body. When you check out today's cars the mirrors fold back upon hitting something. Of course if they were attached to a Fiero fender, they would break off if you hit anything.

The trick is to not run people over, just sayin.

Edit to say, mounting mirrors on the hood and you might be readjusting them everytime you shut the hood unless they are nice and stiff or you are gentle. Readjusting won't be the easiest thing either.

Reminds me of the days when the 55 and 56 Fords came with fender-mounted mirrors. Several of the kit cars we built came with mirrors similar to what the Z above has on them. They were useless for the most part, being so far away that your field of vision was very very small.
