FYI the 87 front crossmember is a little different from 84 but not much. I noticed little things, but the biggest difference I spotted was the reinforcements the factory welded on the bottom. You will see it in the pictures. Interesting. You would think it would go the other way as the production numbers dropped. I have noticed in selling GM products for over 36 years they seem to cut back were ever they can to maintain profits.

85 was like the 84. The 86 had reinforcements added.

My 86 (got it completely stock 19 years ago from original owner) has no reinforcements.

Interesting... I've never seen (or at least noticed) the boxing before. Wouldn't be too hard to add if one wants to thrash on it a bit.
