Went to the local u-pull it and thought I’d share what I found. This place is crazy and as you can see, they don’t give a crap about the cars they have…never could understand that when going here. This place really is an auto graveyard First, the reason I went there was to get the cradle out of this dead 88 2M4 5spd. It was in bad shape but they finished it off by moving it by the roof with a bucket loader to the garage area where they proceeded to cut the 4 bolts with a torch while standing under it. I tried to tell them that it wasn’t a good idea but they didn’t want my input. VIN# 1G2PE11R6JP213597
Next to it was this 86 2M4 5spd VIN# 1G2PM37R7GP233579
Ticks me off because i know these cars didn't show up like this but were damaged/destroyed by the guys that work in the yard. I found that 88 a couple years or so ago and it was in good shape, then the next time i saw it they obviously stabbed the windshield with the loader and trashed it. I figured i'd better grab the cradle while i could.
Yea that's what I was thinking, the two stooges.Im sure there the ones tearing the crap out of all the cars because there to lazy to take there time and do it rite.
When it got to the point where it was hanging by one corner and 1 strut (and he was undoing the last bolt) I told somebody else that the old guy was going to kill himself. He climbed on the back and tied the motor to something ?? with a seatbelt and told the old guy to undo the motor mounts which he did. Then he torched the E brake cable, both axels, unbolted the strut and it fell out. Not sure when but one of the trailing arms is slightly bent. Probably during the ride on the loader...but i got it, including the exhaust for $125

As a general rule; I have observed that you don't encounter the highly educated, cultured and gentile people in the junkyard business. Next time you go, try bringing some cheap xxx movies with you for the boys and you'll get better service.

LOL, i think this was about as good as they get and I don't want to be seen buying the type of movies they would like. For those of you not familiar with the Pine Barons and the "Pineys" ..think Deliverance with sand instead of water. Maybe I’ll get them a 12 pack of Natty Ice next trip.
Edit to say; if anybody is sporting a Piney Power bumper sticker, I'm just joking..... kinda

Less like a graveyard and more like a torture chamber. I love old cars so much I hate to see things like this. Who cares if they were junk when new, I still appreciate old stuff. I don't understand how people in the industry could care less.
California Democrats have forced all junkyards to pave the whole yard so oil and other contaminates can't get into the ground. If you think this adds to the price you pay for everything your right. Most self service yards here the cars aren't there that long and they go to scrap metal and are gone forever. If there were yards like that here out in the country I'd really be on the watch for rattlesnakes.
They look aftermarket, like maybe American Racing brand.
That's what mine were, just a cheap aluminum AR rims. This is the type of place that will charge you on what the parts are for and not what the part is. Say “Fiero” and the price skyrockets. Last fall I pulled the calipers off that 88 and told them they were Camaro, $10 each. When I called and asked about Fiero calipers they wanted double that plus some because those cars are "rare".

Most places around here will drain all fluids before putting the car on blocks in a field to prevent contamination which I’m perfectly fine with. This place; while I was there they brought in a truck that was leaking antifreeze and they put a bucket under it, then dumped it inside another car.

I think I even see a good drivers seat bolster in that silver one. The one that rubs off in many fieros.
I dont even like that yards leave windows doors or hoods open, I guess after a while they get indifferent. One thing I will say about this yard, kudos to them for keeping the oldies there, most places just crush stuff and cycle it out monthly.

I wonder what that will do to ancient junkyards like Turner's in Fresno (pictured here) which seem to survive but only barely. There are cars in there which probably haven't been moved in decades! Didn't see any rattlers but lots of toads though.
