Some of you might remember me as just Robertzep on here from back in 2004. Back then I posted a similar post that showed my black 87 GT. I sold/traded that car and took a Fiero hiatus. I started restoring a 1966 Mustang and wasn't happy with it. I got rid of it and started on a 1968 VW bug. Soon into the VW build, I went on a road trip for work and while driving and talking with my coworker... had an epiphany! On that trip, I admitted to myself that I was never going to be happy with anything but a Fiero! October of 2012, I found my current 1987 GT! I also have a 1986 GT that I am swapping a 3800SC into. LIFE is GOOD as I am truly only happy working on Fieros!
My original 87 GT at work...

My current 87 GT at work today!

For those that don't know me, I work for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company's blimp fleet. I am an Airship Electronic Specialist; responsible for avionics, the electronic LED signs, and I oversee our broadcast television operations. In the photos taken today, you can see our new Zeppelin that is the first of the new ships replacing our current blimps. The other photo shows the Goodyear Wingfoot Lake Hangar, it was built in 1917 for the production of blimps for WWI.

Great idea! I'm sure the Goodyear hanchos won't mind a few hundred Fieros showing up at their blimp fleet airfield.

Hey! Sorry I never ran into you in Akron. I used to drive by the Lockheed Martin storage hangers on 224 everyday when I lived in Ellet.

Last year there was a Fiero car show in Orrville. I believe the organizer was going to push for a follow up this year as well.

TopNotch, you are entirely correct. An agreement with German zeppelin manufacturer ZLT Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik – to supply The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company with airships well into the next decade. The Zeppelin LZ N07–101 model airships are being built with Zeppelin and Goodyear airship teams at Goodyear’s Wingfoot Lake Airship Hangar near Akron, Ohio. The -101 references changes made by Goodyear to the Zeppelin Nt07 design. These changes represent things to the design which helps with the way Goodyear operates our ships and extensive avionics upgrade.

tshark, Maybe in the future we can plan a Fiero Day at Wingfoot Lake, it would have to be after the ship's christening.

Here are some shots of the 86 that I am putting a 3800sc in. These pics are from last year, right now the car is under a cover as I part out an 85 GT. The 3800 is mated to a Muncie 4 speed with a Spec 3 clutch. I have to finish the wiring harness and do some regasketing and I believe she will be ready to startup! The 85 is ready for me to drop the cradle.

The 85 GT on the lift.

I will be posting some parts of the 85 in the mall. It is a rust free space frame that unfortunately the PO cut the front nose off. I have no clue as to why. I believe someone will want the frame rails though!
