Jasper engines is a rebuilding company, that must be who rebuilt the engine

and they are junk rebuilders. I wouldn't trust them to rebuild a lawnmower engine

The "Tech 4" is the official name for the Duke. And as mentioned above, Jasper is a mediocre engine rebuilder.

May 8th is the 30th anniversary of my original owner '84 SE with the Tech 4 - I had never heard of Jasper.
Sounds like others wish they hadn't as well.
