If a company that does water transfer printing had a way to replicate and restore the finish of your rare parts would you have them redone?

how would they seal it from rubbing off or coming off due to moisture?

They spray a clear on after the application has been put on the trim. Water transfer (hydro graphics) are pretty durable.

Yup, this is right. I am working on it with a fella that does this locally right now tho the hard part is getting a supplier to remake the image but it can be done if there is enough demand to warrant the cost of making it.

The other advantage this type printing process would have in addition to durability is overall coverage. With a typical vinyl style transfer not only do you have to be careful and precise with the application, but often the material itself does not apply full coverage, say for curvatures or similar situations in particular pieces. Water transfer has a better coverage ability.

For example this process is usually done in faux wood grain or faux carbon fiber applications that have various curvature, due to the high and even coverage ability over typical vinyl overlays.
