I'm wondering if there is any way to delete or by-pass the shift lock safties, I have it figured out as far as on the shifter itself but there is also a key lock that I'm having trouble finding information on

Essentialy what I'm doing is putting on a manual trans surround on the center counsel cutting down the rod itself about 1 1/2" to 2" and using a aftermarket shift knob, I want to make people really do a double take when I go to car shows this year plus I wont have that constint feeling reminder that its a automatic untill I really do the swap.

If theres any ideas as far as still keeping the shift locks with that set up im open to sugestions.as far as that goes Im thinking something like what volkswagen and scion did in there manual trans cars where you have to pull up/down on a ring right under the knob to be able to go into reverse

What you are contemplating is potentially dangerous. Why don't you save up for a manual Fiero?

That's why I was thinking along the lines of adding a ring beneath the shift boot to be able to keep the locks on it, and in the next 1 1/2 years I plan to pick up a parts fiero to convert mine to a clutch
