I have been seeing what seems to be a shortage of V-6 harmonic balancers. Are none available in the aftermarket? I could probably get some made.

You could sell them for sure. We have to buy a non-Fiero balancers now and remark it. As long as the price was reasonable it would be a great addition to your store.

That would be a great idea. GM is out of stock on this part.

If those that are replacing them new on fieros, they are using the 3.4 V6 balancers.

The timing mark is cut at a different place, so they are required to
match it to the 2.8L balancer to make that mark so it will be visable
to time the engine mecahnically, and once in the car...electronically.

Hard to say if there would be demand...

I'd get one for a "new" spare.

BTW, I'll be calling you Rodney for an order soon. Gotta get a few things.

I've got two I'd sell. One I bought from dampener doctor less than 2 years ago, the other is in very good shape.

In the last several years I have heard the 2.8 balancer was not available and if you used the 3.4 the timing mark is in the wrong place. But I have not heard too many looking hard for a new balancer. One here and there at best. I'm sure I can get them made but it is nice to see a reasonable demand before I invest in having a batch made. I can look in to having some made. As always it takes several months before I would have them in stock if I do look to have a batch of them made.

Maybe if you could have them marked for both engines (2.8 and 3.4) you would have a bigger demand. Just thinking...

The Damper Doctor has Fiero specific harmonic balancers (dampers). I don't know if that's a good price, though. (Maybe someone should tell him how to spell "Fiero".)

Looking at his web page his Fiero dampers are all rebuilt. If they were new they would have a N after them.

I'm not sure what price mine would be but probably less than his? Mine would be new.

Yes we are in need of them. I used a 3.4 on one of my Fieros and I now need one for my other Fiiero. The trouble with using a 3.4 balancer is you have to remark the timing mark. If your old balancer has slipped on the hub, the mark would be in the wrong place. You need a balancer that hasn't slipped to mark it correctly

I received a sample from a manufacturer. It looks very good. I'm probably going to have a batch made. Will take a while. Maybe by the end of summer at best.

I ponder this thing that some harmonic balancers had an extra weight cast into them and some do not. This is the hold up at this point.

If any one wants to see pictures of this sample at any angle, resolution or whatever let me know and I will post a multitude of pictures of this sample. If anyone has any questions please ask them and I will answer them very thoroughly to make sure I leave no doubt about the validity of my claim to make these.

I ordered and received one of each from this damper doctor guy. But they are both the same! Both have the extra pad machined off. I emailed this guy asking him about this but he never replied. Some day soon I'll have to call him and ask him his opinion about this.

Well yeah, those are nice balancers for a 2.5, but...
