My 1988 2m4 has 45,000 miles on it. I noticed some rough idling issues, and figured for $40 may as replace the EGR valve that has been leaking the past few months. (I can tell the EGR valve is bad because some black carbon deposits are leaking out where it meets the engine block, possibly a bad gasket/valve both)
Should I expect any better MPG or smoother idling after replacing the EGR valve. Note this will be a BRAND NEW component replacing a 25 year old original
Thanks,
Justin
