Hey, I've been a chat lurker for a few years now, we used to have some regulars but havent hardly seen a soul in months. Just thought I would throw this on here and see who is still around.
Not in a long time and especially since the powers that be have issued a security exploit warning about Java. (I assume spinchat is still java based) //www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum6/HTML/098495.html
Supposedly, it's been patched, but some analysts say no.
It's easier to ask for someones phone number and call them
If you could hold private chats with people like instant messaging it might be more busy but chatting with an entire room gets pretty mudded out. One person answers a question and NO ONE knows who he/she is referring to if it is too busy.
Have you tried surfing the web with Java disabled? I just did...it's painful. Nothing works.
I use Linux. The web without Java is pretty much the only web I get. Also, Java and JavaScript are very different things, so don't confuse them. There are very few web sites in the wild where Java is a necessity. I think there are probably 2 that I use.
