It's surprising how many of these look in such good shape. I've seen some Mr Mikes, custom floor mats, engine swaps etc on some very nice looking salvage cars. I wish these quality of cars would come up for sales around here. But then again I would end up broke from buying them.
How do you go about buying cars from that salvage site? I clicked on the link for the yellow and black Fiero in Abilene, TX and it just takes me nowhere.

Most of the time you have to be a dealer or connected with one. Then you have to find out where the car is being auctioned. CoParts uses several places here in MI. Sometimes you can bid online. It defers from place to place and even from state to state as to who and how. I also have been told that there are different types of salvage sales and what you can do once you have bought the car. I have worked with some yards that say they can not sell a whole car for any reason and some that say the can sell only as a whole parts car. Then others tell me they can sell anything they want, so who knows. I guess it depends on the kind of title/proof of ownership the car has.

This is one of the last 100 1987s built. From the data I have it looks like the last 400 or so were white. This one would have been built in June of 87.
VIN: 1G2PG1195HP218505 Door build date: Car is in storage, will look next time I see it. Color: Silver w/ gray interior Trans: Auto Options: p/l, p/w, a/c, p/m, rear defrost, factory solid roof, but has an aftermarket sunroof installed Current location, just outside Kittanning, PA in storage at a friend's garage. Notes: I bought it Feb. 12, 2008 for $800. Bought off of a high school kid, who told me it was his grandfather's car, but don't know any history other than that. He told me the head gaskets were bad, and the oil pump was shot. I hauled it home, freshened some things up and drove it as a work car for almost three years. Current mileage is around 158,000. I have a small block 90% assembled for it. Also have an F40 off of eBay and various other parts laying around. Eventually I'll get enough scratch to pick up an Archie kit and go to work.

The cars were defiantly built in color batches. I can't say they were built in body style groups because of the gaps I have in data plus the GT style was the largest number built.
