Have a zero mile 88 2.8L fiero motor looking to get $500 for it. Will include head and intake for the right price. Also have a 96 3.4 Dohc zero mile short block for $400.

I wouldn't mind the idea of a spare engine for my GT. Do you (or any one) know the differences between my 86 2.8 and the 88?

only difference is in 88 they had flat top pistons so compression was different, Otherwise everything goes together.

I'd be interested in the 88 2.8L
is it an actual "NEW CRATE ENGINE"
or a rebuilt unit. what company sold it to you?

PM me details.

Thanks!!

Flywheels and cranks are different as well. One is internally balenced and the other is not. '85-'87 are one way and then '88 is the other, can't remeber which way it goes. I'm sure someone will chyme in.

88s are internally balanced so you need a flywheel and harmonic balancer from a 88 as well
