a whole dash wouldn't be cost effective (about $1000 worth of carbon to do it right) though caps like TFS has could be possible. the framework for the center could be done but would be very labor intensive couldn't give a good price on it don't think anyone would buy a $600 piece that you never see lol as for the trim pieces lots of places are making the overlays in carbon (as most people just want the look but i could do them without much problem. i could do lots of different pieces in fiberglass with 2 plys of carbon overlay to keep the cost down if people just want the look but with the real carbon weave.

How about a drop in cover for the bottom of the trunk? Making the bottom half hidden and the top shallow storage. A nice piece of large black and blue weaved fiberglass would look nice.

good thought. I've been wanting to make a block off piece out of 1/4" plywood or something and cover in with factory carpeting. but I haven't found the time.
a carbon fiber one would be cool and weigh less

If we're just going for the carbon look, but with a fiberglass base I'd like to see something along the lines of Sofa King's ideas but with a carbon outer layer.

It's a great starting point for some cool designs. click here

He has some great ideas and some ideas I could live without, but I love the cup-holder!

I agree that there are already carbon overlays if you want to stick it over your stock look (The Fiero Store even has them in different colors), but nothing like the real thing.

I was thinking of something like this as well for my car. I'll be interested to see what you come up with.

Would love a set of qtr window inner CF trim pannels!

Valve covers might be cool too; but duno how they would hold-up to oil/heat/vibration over time. They would also have to be designed really well to prevent any leaks...

i like the inner fastback panel idea that woudnt be that hard for an overlay, making them entirely out of carbon wouldnt save much weight they are light now and the valve covers would be very expensive to produce

i looked at the seat mech covers on mine and think i will make a mold rather than do an overlay. it will be much stronger that way but will require 8-10 plys so will be more expensive ill start work on it next weekend and keep everyone posted

Cig cover might be easy to do in CF
L&R a/c vent trim might also look nice in CF
Rally gauge "pod" in CF?

someone used to make carbon fibre headliners .i could go for one of those .you could make a mold by adding resin and cloth to an old headliner with the fabric removed .i know this would be expensive but since very little structural strength is required 2 layers would be enough .i saw a picture of one once and they look really nice .

Ahhh lovely carbon!

Here are the items I would like to see:
mirrors covered
quarter windows (coupe and GT)
cig lighter surround
center console door
dash map pocket
all bezels
vent covers
end caps
shift surround
headlight surrounds (the black plastic that shows when they are up)
dome light surround
headlight/dimmer switch bezel
defroster/trunkpop bezel
seat recline covers
seat recline handles
seatbelt covers (by speakers)
fuel filler door
rear trunk tail lamp caps

all I can think of off the top of my head. Can't wait until the Rottinchop is ready for some Carbon Fiber...or the Bluechop for that matter!

On the injector cover, I'm assuming that the carbon fibre was applied to the origianl cover. Is that correct?

Thanks

if i like the way it looks when its done i may make one entirely out of carbon, didnt want to waist alot if i didnt like the look so did an overlay first, the other option is stainless i like the way it looks too. also thinking about doing a ribbed one would kind of look like the top of a quad 4 only with "24v 3.4 DOHC" instead of "16v QUAD 4 DOHC" like this one
