Well I was playing around tonight relocating the ignition switch that used to mount to the column (for the right hand drive conversion) when stupid me thought it would be easier to remove the bracket to bend it. Well the bracket is part of the housing and parts went flying everywhere. I lost 2 of the springs. Would you believe inside that little switch is 11 springs, 4 copper sliders, 1 roller, 1 small pin and 2 other long shafts that I couldn't work out where to put.

So now I am after the part below. It is bolted to the steering column and is the switch that operates the ignition (via the bar from the key barrel). Sorry about the crappy pic.

Disregard that the bracket is flat on the pic, it will have a 90 degree bend on the part.

So now I need one URGENTLY. Preferably cheaply too. Oh, and it is an 88 GT Auto if that makes any difference. I don't think it will. Can anyone help me out here?

I checked on monster parts and it lists different ones. SO mine is auto, tilt column. $57 new
Kinda hoping to find one cheaper than that.
Holden probably do have a similar part but finding it would be like a needle in a haystack.
Anyone got a good used one?

If you find the other 2 springs, I will show you how it goes together. I have rebuilt one and yes, it works just fine.

Please do. The only parts I cant work out are the 2 round pins. The long pointless looking ones
The springs I can steal out of something else.

Oh those 2 tiny round ones? FFS! those took me an hour to figure out. You will shoot yourself after I show you. Well, I threw in another picture just to make sure you got it all right.

A am sorry if you have a slow connection but I was too lazy to resize. I know Australia does not provide the best internet.

Thanks. I had worked out that side, but thanks anyway. It was the other 2 parts that had me. Finally worked out they were the rollers for the other side of the black part. For the 2 missing springs I found one in a pen that was the right size and cut it into 2 springs the right length.

Cheers
Jim
