Still got a few things to pull yet from this motor. Not a whole lot left though. Camera snapped it's last picture so I'm off to get a new one this weekend. Will have pics of the items listed here that are lacking them on Monday or Tuesday. PM me and/or post here if you need anything.
(only the rear 3 ends are corroded, contacts are still in good shape) - - - - - Please keep in mind that these items are off of a dead motor so none were tested. Please post here or PM me, either is fine as I have no life for the next 3 weeks and have moved into PFF for shelter until then

If your alternator tests bad, can you sell just the pully?
Thanks
I don't see why not... might as well get something outta it if it's dead. Gotta pull the valve covers tonight for another member so I'll get that ready to go and have it tested tomorrow.
How's the alternator bracket? I just discovered mine is broken. Figure a price with shipping to 97114. Whatever you think is fair, a new one at Fierostore is $100

how many miles were on the motor? what happened to it?
To be honest, I have no idea yet. Previous owner said it just wouldn't turn over after sitting in his yard for a year. I guess I'll know for sure once the heads come off. If it was the original motor, which it appears to be, it had just flipped 100K.

Other than signs of aging I didn't see any fractures. Will post pics when it's off. UPDATE: Bracket being sent off for powder coating...

Went to take the alternator in today and when I picked it up I noticed the pivot bolt hole was partially fractured off so the alternator might as well be junk. I don't have a puller to get the pulley off but I'll be going out by my mechanic on Monday anyway so I'll have him yank it there. Figure $5 for the pulley and a few bucks to ship it. Just lemme know.

Tim Have you gotten the 2.8 you purchased from me running good yet? It always ran somth for me and always started right up. After you get your dead motor parts sold I have another dead 2.8 that I will have in the mall to part out.

She's been running on and off for the past few days. Had to break for a week cause of hernia surgery so I couldn't wait till I was mobile enough to crawl back in and fire her up. Just pulled some ALDL data from idling up to temp and gonna see if I can get someone to help interpret it in tech. Everything looked ok to me though, no error codes from the start so that's a good sign. Only thing that might put a kink in my plans would be an alternator change but we'll see what happens. Just waiting for it to get dark enough to take her for a quick ride around the block... No plates/registration so it's gotta be a covert operation
