Was dropping some hazardous waste in Southern California today and spotted this gem under a tarp behind a parked (long term) motor home. Since I had plenty of time I walked over to check it out, the owner was getting ready to do some work on it anyway and was more than willing to pull the tarp for me to see the rest of it.

He said he built it completely himself, from parts, and it's named for his daughter that wasn't supposed to live past birth, and is still doing well. No matter what we think, you have to respect the labor that went into the build.

I give you, MIRARI. (He said it was Italian for Miracle)

I tried to get as many angles as I could. And for the record it is not a Fiero "kit", it's all hand made, frame up. The owner was extremely nice, and I could tell he was a fun guy to hang out with.

I'm guessing it's a Cadillac Eldorado drivetrain, relocated to the rear. (Isn't THAT a novel idea. )
Looks like Buick wheels, and a Caddy steering wheel.

It's a cool endeavor, if not that well executed. I wish his daughter well.

Edit - That's a big freaking car!

No joke, I had some guy in a pickup truck trying to get me to say something bad about the place on his camera phone, I imagine for some documentary about how the plant is destroying something. He asked me what I was hauling in and everything, I just looked as crazed as I could and said that they told me not to open the trailer to look because it would probably kill me....

(I was hauling empty soap containers from some manufacturing plant.)

There was a thread here recently about Tornado or Eldorado drivetrains. It might have been in general Fiero Chat.

Google translate says the Italian is miracolo. Looks like he probably got a lot of other things wrong, too.

On another note that car has one heck of a long wheelbase.

Better than the one I built. I give him credit for effort but, not offering to buy it.
