There was an episode of MythBusters that concluded that this was impossible, that someone could not be electrocuted by directing their urine onto an electrified transport rail--unless they actually contacted the rail with their skin. (I generally do not follow MythBusters and did not see that episode, but someone I know saw this same news report and brought up the MythBusters episode.)
Wonder if the guy actually sat down on the subway rails--or if MythBusters was wrong..?
Maybe he got electrocuted while he was on the tracks somehow, but not actually electrocuted through his urine stream. Maybe just pizzed up the ground all around the electrified rail and then stepped directly on the rail itself..?

That episode was about peeing on an electric fence (IIRC) which is going to be high voltage, but low current. The reason they came to their conclusion was that the urine stream breaks apart and isn't a single solid stream of liquid. I wonder if the higher available current of a subway rail wouldn't give the voltage the capability of arcing across the individual segments of the stream.
I call Bull on the mythbusters bit. I know first hand that if you pee on an electric fence, you WILL get a charge out of it.. and it is NOT fun. Doubt me? Go to the country, find a working electric fence.. and pee on it.

It's possible they were off on that one. None of them actually pissed on a wire as far as I know.
I stand corrected on the test of peeing on the third rail, apparently they did that one first. But the conclusion was the same:
"Since ballistic gelatin has the same electrical resistance as a human body, the MythBusters rigged a dummy with a urination valve and electric release that would trigger with exposure to current. Even wetting the feet and removing shoes failed to trigger the release, due to the urine stream failing to stay laminar and solid enough to complete a circuit. A larger valve failed to create a solid stream, but setting the dummy unrealistically close to the rail finally succeeded. A spinoff of this myth was tested in Myths Revisited. In this episode, the "genitalia" region of the dummy is censored, and no reference is made verbally, instead referring only to the urination process."

Now....WHY did that bring up a mental image of coveralls, no shirt, a loaded rifle leaned against that electricity and the words "Hey, Ya'all watch this"

In all honesty we were camping at a friends farm not hunting and I got a beer and had just set it down before I did that, sorry I didn't ask anyone to hold my beer and say watch this.
