Many people used to think that everything they heard on radio or TV was true, because "If it wasn't true, they wouldn't let them put it on TV." (It was never clear who "they" were, but "the government" was usually implied.)

More humorously, in the '40s and '50s when TV was still relatively new, many thought that the the people on their TV screens could actually see them in their living rooms ... as if the broadcast TV system were bidirectional. Strange but true. The apparent logic was, "We can see them, so why shouldn't they be able to see us?" I guess one factor was that TV was a much more immediate and "personal" medium than film, and most TV programs were broadcast live back then.

The '40s and '50s were also a time when most people still thought the "professional wrestling" they saw on TV, complete with all the posturing and drama, was legitimate. Professional boxing, which was mostly legitimate, was broadcast live nationwide every Friday night and professional wrestling, usually local, was typically live on Saturday night, so I guess it's not so strange that some people assumed both were equally real.

You might suggest a black hole but if it is pulling us toward it, what is on the other side of the universe pulling that stuff the opposite way? Another black hole? The force that you speak of is known as "dark energy", which is said to account for almost 80 percent of all that our universe is.

It looks like I picked up another rating. It looks like it went to the negative side. I apologize to whomever I have offended with my attempt at a scientific discussion. I need the tech support here more than I need the social interaction and intelectual stimulation of O/T so I'd better quit while I still have posting rights. If anyone needs me, I'll be in my build threads.

Once again, you make a provocative post and then, after others have posted rebuttals, cast yourself as the victim. It's not all about you ... really.

(FWIW: 1) I have never rated you. 2) You cannot rate me negative more than once.)

During WW2 Germany was blamed for the Katyn massacre. Recently declassified documents have proven this to be false.

Most people still think the federal reserve is a government entity. They are in fact a private foreign owned central bank. Why exactly do they control the issuance of US dollars instead of congress? The constitution did not give authority to congress to delegate that power away, nor did we the people.

:Warning : Dangerous subject to discuss.

Fact is the American people are the most lied to people on the planet. Ignorance is bliss. Don't look into it if you want to remain content with the way things are.

Green racing cars are unlucky.

quote
The origins of this superstition reportedly date to 1920, when Indianapolis 500 champion Gaston Chevrolet -- the younger brother of Chevrolet Motor Car Company co-founder Louis Chevrolet -- was killed in a horrific accident while racing a green car at a track in Beverly Hills.

For decades to come, it was rare to ever see a green-colored car at the racetrack. This was easy enough to avoid when cars simply were painted any color the driver wanted. But as sponsorship became more prevalent in the 1970s and '80, companies with green logos obviously wanted that color on the car.

Nt enough information.
Is the turntable rotating under it's own power source or free wheeling?
Which direction is it revolving in relation to the 53's main rotor rotation?

Short answer tho is "Yes".

My mother in law still believes that and will argue it is true even today still. As well as anything that it in the paper must be true or they can't print it.

I. Newtons three laws of motion:
1.First law: An object remains at rest or at a constant velocity (uniform motion), with respect to an inertial reference frame, unless acted upon by a force [2][3]
2.Second law: The acceleration of a body is directly proportional to, and in the same direction as, the net force acting on the body, and inversely proportional to its mass. Thus, F = ma, where F is the net force acting on the object, m is the mass of the object and a is the acceleration of the object.
3.Third law: When one body exerts a force on a second body, the second body simultaneously exerts a force equal in magnitude and opposite in direction to that of the first body.

II. Gravity is the weakest force in the universe:
Gravitational force is 10 thousand billion billion billion billion times weaker than the Electromagnetic force
http://www.scienceiq.com/Facts/WeakForce.cfm

III. The universe is expanding at an ever-increasing speed.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/s...niverse-accelerating

So it stands to reason that if all matter was once centrally located and compacted together and then exploded at the speed of light, all of those particles should still be traveling in their original vectors at the same speed. If we apply Newton's laws and the law of conservation of momemtum, we should easily see that NOTHING should EVER SPEED UP without additional force being applied.

It has been proposed that parts of that matter has bumped into other parts repeatedly over time and has created planets, etc. These parts were supposedly drawn together by GRAVITY. We know that gravity is the WEAKEST FORCE IN THE UNIVERSE. So how did the weakest measurable force known to science overcome the inertia of matter moving in infinite directions at the speed of light?

It just doesn't add up scientifically.

Gravity may be the weakest of the forces (that we know of) but its also the most influential on everything. Sure Gravity takes time to do its job, its weak, slow, and takes forever to bring things together and build something.. But in the end, no matter how much power and energy you have going for you, eventually, inevitably, Gravity wins!

... or until 1965, when Jimmy Clark won the Indianapolis 500 in a Lotus 38 sporting traditional "British racing green" trim. There was actually a lot of controversy over paint colors at Indianapolis in the early to mid '60s, when the first mid-engine British cars (primarily Lotus and Lola) began racing there ... and beating the pants off of the traditional, front-engine, solid-axle "Indy cars."
