P1443- EVAP Canister perge valve mechancial fault or VMV fault condition

P0708- Transmission range sensor high condition

From what I have researched, P1443 is a common problem, mostly caused by vacuum leaks. I am going to check a few lines for leaks, and then maybe replace the EVAP valve and solenoid. Anyone have experience with this code?

Now, P0708 is the tricky one. It appears this sensor is part of the NSS and tells the transmission what gear the car is supposed to be in. How/why is this code present? What are symptoms of failure? Anyone have experience with this code?

I have owned the car for about a year and haven't had any codes or CEL's but now all the sudden I have 2 at once. I am just trying to get this fixed.

Thanks

Thanks James Bond. I had already seen that and it really is only troubleshooting the first code. I need help with the transmission code mostly.

I'm going to check for vac leaks today, and easy ways besides spraying something flammable all over everything?

Not sure if you were aware, but the transmission range sensor is the neutral safety switch, and I have seen many Fords with this and similar codes. It is the large electronic part on the transmission where the shifter cable attaches to the shift lever. In my experience it has always been a faulty switch or a bad connection @ the switch.

Thanks for the advise. I am going to reset the computer tomorrow, and see if either of these codes come back. They came suddenly after a very heavy rainstorm about a week ago.
