Zebra striped handkerchiefs tied in a loop with all sorts of pins and stuff attached. Lots of stuff was hanging from rear view mirrors back then. Add on sunroofs were also pretty popular then too, although that may have started earlier. Can't forget the big "fake" cell phones.

I forgot all about the suction-cup Garfields. "Baby On Board" signs were popular for awhile.

I remember a lot of stuff in neon colors. Windshield wipers, particularly the two-bladed wipers, in neon yellow or green. Some people had neon bandannas they had tied like a headband and hung from their rear-view mirrors. Bonus points for having buttons from various bands pinned to it.

Yesterday was Fierorama so in honor of the 80s I wore my white Reebok hightops, the kind with the giant tongue and padding around the ankles. They look good but hurt my feet since the soles ahve kind of petrified over the years but they're VERY 80s.

EDIT - SCCAFiero beat me to it while I was typing!

I had a 73 Dodge Charger, got it in 83 and sold it in 88

It already had the small wheels in the front and the large wide wheels in the back with air shocks.
When I got it I added
Loud Pipes and a four barrel carburetor
Floor shifter
Hood pins
M/T valve covers
Bandanna hung from the rear view mirror
Roach Clips with feathers hung off the Bandanna

I use to polish it every weekend but other than the wheels and the hood pins it was stock on the outside

Another thing was the short stubby rubber antennas or a short antenna with the coils in it to make it appear to be a cellphone antenna.
