YES!! The top three terraces are finally finished!

Well...almost!! I have to paint the cement along the bottom of the new store doors , and screw the oak wooden trim on along the bottom of the walkway...but that won't take more than 15 minutes

And...I put up the garage door today, all by myself . Need three hands to do it!! WHAT a difference to have the 'black hole' filled with the up-and-over garage door. Now I can finish rendering the back of the house, and fit the windows, and then I can work inside no matter what the weather!!

Zwerver stands guard up above

We have the same porch swing, only green. Great when there is no wind to cool you down. Nice job on the terrace by the way and AFT.

Sorry can’t make the BBQ; I hate flying, especially over water.

Holy Spudweasels, Nick, that's awesome!

Just needs a beautiful lady to make it perfect. If I recall correctly, you've got one somewhere.

Wink, indeed.

I'd like to think that our two countries have "buried the hatchet" by now.

Thanks all !
Steve...Ellie likes the red theme (supposed to show deep-seated psychological unrest? ), and we have been lucky with things coming together. The swing was in the superstore as a demo, and I sat in it many times when we were there shopping...dreaming . Couldn't believe it the last time I went there, the salesman was putting a 'final sale price:ex-demo: 79 euros!!! I rang Ellie, and said do you mind? ..and she said 'get it! You have wanted one for years..it is red, isn't it ?'. .
As you said, Steve...it is so nice to swing a little in the cool evening breeze !
Zeb..she is the only reason I do it She deserves the best
FB I would...but it is a bit weird having a barbecue for one ...so I cooked a celibratory chop and baked potato in your honours!
NoMoreRicers..thanks..the look on Ellie's face is fine reward
Jeff. Thanks very much .
lurker...enjoy your Independence from Ol' Blighty!!

Thanks FieroMaster88

Tony...sorry
FG...'We' never forgave those darned Yanks...stockings and chewing gum (not you WEARING them Just giving them to the girls ...we didn't stand a chance...APART from you guys are all so flippin' BIG!! and handsome

I really have my inspiration back again...can't wait to render the back of the house, fit the windows properly...and lay the floor tiles inside the 'workshop'.

Anybody else find it hard to throw stuff away? Most of the things in front of the garage are junk, waiting to be dumped...but there are nearly 40 tins of auto paint in there, most are full...I just can't chuck it!! It is soooo expensive to buy now . The rest will be gone soon

OK Last post about the terraces
Ellie wanted the furniture to share the colour schemes, so I got four nice seat covers from the Turkish carpet seller, and put them on the four wooden chairs.
Now she is happy

I took a 'composite' photo to show the window shutters and store doors in the same photo.

Now Ellie is completely happy, and so am I!
So, I went downstairs and completely emptied the workshop, fitted 2 brackets for the garage door, because the supplied ones were rubbish . So the door is now finished, and I am ready for the Herculean task of getting as much done on the ground floor until I run out of materials . Hopefully my 8 month overdue Spanish Pension will arrive, complete with 9 months backdated payments, which will enable me to get most everything done down there.
Can't WAIT

Thanks Todd...I think !!
This WILL be the last photo
How it looked on the day we bought the house in 2001

We paid 72,600 euros for it then...and it is now worth, apparently , 145,000 euros Even with a current 60% deflation of houses here, it is still worth nearly double what we paid. That is reward enough ...although it was valued at 245,000 euros, WITHOUT all the work we have done, 5 years ago . We really don't care, because the house prices then were so unrealistically inflated, we knew it wasn't really worth that . So we haven't done too badly
