Odd, very odd...

Damn, BB ate my reply.

Short version:

Someone posted a similiar thread about a week ago, but it had "regular" (non-ugly) folks in it. Your eyes see better detail at the spot you are focused on, but see better light from the peripheral( like looking at stars, you see them brighter when you don't look straight at them- a bit frustrating )
Your brain fills in the blanks, and having two faces makes it even funkier.

I heard you see funky stuff if you stare at yourself in a mirror for ten minutes or so...

The human brain is funky.

Yep, if you focused on the x in the middle, it would change how the people appeared. What is happening is each eye is taking the picture from it's side, and then the brain is meshing them together.

Oh. I guess I didn't focus on the X in the middle. I was actually looking at the pics. I'll try again.


Edit for update: I couldn't focus on the X. My eye kept looking at the pics.

Worked great for me looking at the X. Everyone turned really weird looking fast. It dont work if you focus on one or the others pic.

Not exactly. It's the chicks that have my eyes floating away from the X. Hooties and Booties and good looking chicks will get my eyes on them like a tractor beam.
