Have you seen the video of this woman who is charged with taking her child into a tanning booth. This woman looks like she tans an hour a day, 365 days a year. She looks like a total freak. How can anyone think they are attractive looking like a well done steak. At least shes already set for Halloween.

While I personally think it's gross, I do believe her when she says her kid has not been in a tanning bed. I'm sure her daughter just wanted to be like Mommy and said she went tanning with her because she's a little diva. My little sister pretended all sorts of things that just weren't true at that age.
If people want to look like that, more power to 'em. Just don't put your healthcare bill on my desk when you get skin cancer and we'll be good.

Serious question... Does a light to medium colored "black" person tan and get darker when exposed to sun like "white" people do?
Serious answer....yes.
We "tan" too though are not as vulnerable to the negative effects of the sun as people with less melanin. Unless the person is especially "fair skinned," sunblock is a waste of money. More often than not, we'll sunstroke long before we sunburn.
Personally, I use pure coconut oil to tan....a trick I learned in Jamaica.

I know I burn pretty bad, I am the poster boy for the IT look. If I was any whiter you wouldn't be able to look at me. I use to get tanned each year but for the last 20 or so years I have protected myself and stayed out of the sun. Cancer is nothing to play with and there is family history, I don't know anyone that would think that what she is doing is healthy.

I once spent about 2 weeks in Ottawa a while back, and was able to count the number of non-white people that I saw on one hand during the entire time I was there.
I did learn a lot from my friends there about the whole thing with Queen Beatrix from Holland and how she gave birth to her son there, and that he had to be born on Dutch soil, and how Canada gave her the hotel room, and then with all the tulips and stuff and now there's tulip festivals, etc... was a pretty interesting business trip.

It's a different situation here in many parts of Vancouver. Look around while you're driving, or go to a large supermarket or mall, and you can count the number of white people on one hand. The rest are Asians.
