"The Obama administration is looking for states that will experiment with unemployment insurance programs by letting people test a job while still receiving benefits."

And I don't care if Republican leaders signed off on this or not.. This is simply moronic!

Well, no, not really. My wife (very overqualified for the job) worked two weeks at a job that was just not worth anyone's time, as the manager was abusive, demeaning and downright crazy. So, she had to reapply for unemployment, which required a lot of red tape. Knowing this, now she won't accept a job that is questionable, as it will screw up her unemployment. So, a trial period is good, as long as you are not receiving unemployment during this period.

This is how they buy votes with tax payer money. This kind of thing has been going on for a LONG time. This is partly why %50 of Americans do not pay tax and some even get money back, money they did not even pay in!

I agree, someone should be able to quit a job and keep unemployment if they try it and decide it is too hard or the coworkers are too hard to put up with or if the job just stinks. Trial period is a good idea.

While I don't agree with the "too hard" part, yea.

I've taken jobs before where they told me the pay would work out to (just a number from the air) $4.00 a week. At the end of week two I find out it's $2.00 a week, and the Boss goes to extreme measures to cut down how much he pays. Meanwhile I have a job that I am losing money at because it costs $1.00 to go to work every week, and $1.00 to eat, I can't afford my house, or electric.
