No way am I suggesting that she deserved any of this, but why do women associate with guys like him in the first place? Does it give them some kind of adrenalin rush, like sleeping with a time-bomb?

The story does not say how long they were seeing each other. It does say he was unstable:

I cant hep but think this is just as much her falt as his. She saw the warning signs, it was tattood on his arm. I cant for the life of me see why people stay with abusive pieces of crap? They get beat down and take them back in then cover up the crimes, till they winde up dead or mamed. I dont know how many times he beat he before this, or maybe this was the first (I doubt it) but she still knew he had an "OUTLAW" tattoo on his arm, that was enough to dump him. NOPE she stayd till this happend=just as much falt of hers as it is of his. He should not have done it, or maybe he should have been killd in a bar fight, but no, the fact is she knew his bad temper and ignored the worning signs. I hope this sticks in peoples heads as a reminder to ask them selfs "what is more important to me, this lover or my life?"

Read the description.. He's 6'4". He's not going to be high on the list for anyone to make as their prison btch. He really sounds like the kind of guy who should be locked up, but it's just going to be a playground for him.
To go semi-medevial.. He should have a lobotomy and have his adrenal gland removed.. then after a nice long stay in a drafty cold prison.. maybe then he can be released.

His size wont save him when he gets jumped by 3 other guys his size, with a shank. And the guards turning a blind eye for a few moments.

But why? Yes he's a thug and POS.. but it's not like he did this to a child.. Plenty of guys in prison for "giving the (insert term) btch what she had coming". He's not going to have a huge target on his back, and will probably end up with an Aryan group of some sort.

THIS is where Law breaks down. I am willing to bet the charge was plea-bargained down to GBH with intent, in return for a full confession. If I was a Judge in this type of case, I would wish to have the power to reject the charge, and replace it with one that would incur the highest penalty possible. I think attempted manslaughter would have been the minimum...and should have been attempted murder. Honestly...he broke her jaw, and nose, ripped her eyes out...and then kept her locked up IN THAT CONDITION for 12 hours. I know mugshots a re designed to make people lokk evil...but that one of him is just demonstrating the evil that lies behind his face. Under British Law, the maximum penalty for GBH with intent is a bare 10 years. 5 after 'good behaviour'. I get the feeling that, big as he is, he will be scared for his life...either in prison...or more likely when he gets out.
Possible Life sentence, but unlikely, in today's Courts. he will probably get 6-12 years, with early release (after half of sentence served) for good behaviour.
