The chain mesh "shark proof" suits that I have seen/inhabited are generally worn over the wetsuit. I have never seen anyone wear one under the wetsuit but assume that it might be possible if the wetsuit was overly large and you did not care about staying warm.

Caribbean reef sharks are of some importance to fisheries as a source of meat, leather, liver oil, and fishmeal, but recently they have become more valuable as an ecotourist attraction. In the Bahamas and elsewhere, bait is used to attract them to groups of divers in controversial "shark feedings". This species is responsible for a small number of attacks on humans.
Look into the shark's eye. What do you see? Nothing! That small brain only holds one thought: "I wonder what this tastes like" Not for this boy! ------------------
