I guess she should have read it before she voted on it then.

quote
Former Democratic congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper, a Catholic from Erie, Pennsylvania, cast a crucial vote in favor of Obamacare in 2010. She lost her seat that November in part because of her controversial support of Obamacare. But Dahlkemper said recently that she would have never voted for the health care bill had she known that the Department of Health and Human Services would require all private insurers, including Catholic charities and hospitals, to provide free coverage of contraception, sterilization procedures, and the "week-after" pill "ella" that can induce early abortions.

"I would have never voted for the final version of the bill if I expected the Obama Administration to force Catholic hospitals and Catholic Colleges and Universities to pay for contraception,” Dahlkemper said in a press release sent out by Democrats for Life in November. "We worked hard to prevent abortion funding in health care and to include clear conscience protections for those with moral objections to abortion and contraceptive devices that cause abortion. I trust that the President will honor the commitment he made to those of us who supported final passage."

Hopefully, Obama Care will end many political careers. Any politician that supported it should be replaced before they do something even dumber.
Supporting and voting for something as monumental as this without even reading it is reason for impeachment or recall as far as I'm concerned.

Now who's tellin whom what to do????
I suspect there's a little hitch in the gettalong of DHS's requirement--

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;"

This is typical of social entitlements. It starts with good intentions. Then opponents of the entitlement are demonized. The law passes. Then the entitlement becomes a "right". This new "right" is then used to force people to do things or they will get fined and/or jailed.

There is no "right" to contraception, sterilization or abortion pills. This is completely invented by Obama and the left. Now this newly minted "right" is going to be used to violate Catholic's Constituional right to exercise their religion.

Even if you examine this new "right" to contraception, sterilization and abortion pills, it does not make sense. Since when can one person's liberty FORCE another person to perform a service or give their property to the first person? This is a perversion of what a liberty is defined as. Liberties are all about the individual being able to do things. They are not about compelling anyone else to do something for you. Anything that allows one person to compell another person to do something is not a liberty or "right". It is coercision. It is the gross use of government brute force to make someone do something that they would otherwise not do.

Although I'm not privy to any of the inner circle of Obama meetings, I see this strictly as politics as normal. Obama knows he won't get a huge Catholic vote/support so who's he really pissing off? No one that was gonna vote for him anyway and he pleases those who want this. Didn't say I agreed with it but it's something that might get him a few liberal votes.

Hello, Obama actually got a large majority of the Catholic vote during his first election. Even Notre Dame had him as a speaker on campus early on. Though a few did protest outside the gates, not enough. Thanks Norm

Obamacare looks to me like a huge bonus for the insurance companies. Instead of addressing the constantly rising cost of health care all it did was give a huge customer base to the insurance companies at the expense of employers. I know, I know, if we can't trust the insurance companies who can we trust? And then there was bush. He gave the pharmacy companies a huge gift with the coverage for seniors. Didn't even use the governments great bargaining position to get better rates. Thank god we have two parties that we can trust. (sarcasm)

Dereliction of duty.

I have no sympathy for her.

She had PLENTY of information to be able to tell what was going to happen. Gullible is not an excuse.
